There has been some stories in the press of patient data being sold for use that is not related to your healthcare. NHS England do use patient data for research purposes and this is what this relates to, they are not selling your personal details to companies for marketing reasons. If you do not wish for your data to be available for NHS research purposes please follow the guidance below:

You do not need to do anything if you are happy about how your confidential patient information is used. You can change your choice at any time.
